The Wesleyan Charity
Advisory Committee generously supports a number of good causes
and more than £800,000 has been donated in the past few
years.
Wesleyan is currently supporting
The Alzheimer’s
Society, voted for by staff as their Charity of the
Year.
We will be working closely with The Alzheimer’s
Society to raise as much money as possible in support of their
vital work.
For three years prior to this (2006 to 2008)
Marie Curie Cancer Care was the
chosen Staff Charity of the Year and over £100,000 was donated to
help with their excellent work.
This year we will continue to work with Marie Curie by sponsoring
the annual 2009 Birmingham Brain Game, for the third consecutive
year.
The Wesleyan Charity Advisory Committee is
committed to engaging and supporting staff who take part in
fundraising events, either in support of the charity of the year or
their own personal choice and frequently match fund the amount
raised by individual staff.
Recently we have made donations to a range of
other good causes including the BBC Children in Need appeal, Red
Nose Day, Birmingham Children's Hospital, Association of
Wheelchair Children, Norman Laud Association and Children Fire and
Burns Trust.
