
Craig Errington, C Dir, FIoD
Chief Executive
Craig Errington joined Wesleyan in 1991 as a Financial Consultant. He was appointed to the Board as Group Sales Director in 2002 having been top Adviser, top Sales Manager and top Regional Manager. In April 2005 Craig was appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive. He is Chairman of the Society's Executive Committee, a Director of Wesleyan Financial Services Limited, Wesleyan Unit Trust Managers Limited, Wesleyan Bank Limited, Wesleyan Key Business Finance Limited and a Director of the Association of Financial Mutuals (AFM). In 2011 Craig was named overall Director of the Year, as well as National Director of the Year for Large Businesses, at the Institute of Directors Awards.
Michael Lewis, MA, FIA,
Investment Director
Michael Lewis joined the Society as Investment Director in 1992. He is a mathematics graduate of Magdalen College, Oxford and qualified as an actuary in 1980. He is a 35-year industry veteran and began his career at NFU Mutual. During his time at Wesleyan, Michael developed a contra cyclical and long-term investment style, focusing on investment classes, sectors and stocks that are temporarily out of favour with other investors. Portfolio turnover is amongst the lowest in the industry and track record is excellent.
Steve Deutsch, BEng, ACIB, C Dir, MloD
Chief Operating Officer - Sales
Steve Deutsch joined Wesleyan in 2005 following 19 years in a variety of roles at Lloyds TSB. A member of the Society's Board since 2007,(he has previously been Operations Director and Commercial Director), Steve was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Sales in October 2011. In this role he has overall responsibility across the Group for the Sales force, General Insurance, the Wesleyan Bank Limited, Wesleyan Key Business Finance Limited, internet and direct sales. Steve was appointed Managing Director of Wesleyan Financial Services Limited on 1 January 2011 and in addition is a Director of Wesleyan Bank Limited and Wesleyan Key Business Finance Limited.
Tim Pindar, BA, FIA
Chief Actuary
Tim qualified as an actuary in 1988. He joined Medical Sickness Society in 1989 and moved into Wesleyan Group upon the merger of the two Societies in 1997. He became the Society's Appointed Actuary in 2002 and since 2004 has had overall responsibility for the provision of all actuarial and technical services to the Wesleyan Group. Tim has served on several actuarial working parties and co-authored a number of actuarial papers.
Joe Roderick, FCA, ACII
Company Secretary
Joe qualified as a chartered accountant in 1975 and joined Medical Sickness Society in 1980 from Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP). He held the positions of Company Secretary and Financial Accountant with Medical Sickness and upon the merger of the two Societies in 1997 assumed these positions in the enlarged group. In addition to secretarial and statutory accounting roles Joe is also responsible for taxation, pensions, corporate audit including corporate governance, staff pensions and bulk annuities.
Andrew D'Arcy B Com, ACII, Dip. IoD
Director of Banking and General Insurance
Andrew joined Wesleyan in July 2008 following seven years with RBS Group where he worked in a variety of senior roles in Insurance and Consumer Finance in the UK and Europe. Prior to that he worked for KPMG Consulting specialising in the delivery of major change programmes. He is a Bachelor of Commerce and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Clive Bridge, BSC, FCIPD, M IoD
Chief Operating Officer - Manufacturing
As COO for Manufacturing at Wesleyan, Clive has responsibility for Manuafcturing Planning, Customer Services, Claims, Data Management and IT. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Personnel & Development with more than 30 years' experience of working in HR. Clive joined Wesleyan in January 2009 after spending 18 years at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in a number of roles, culminating in Board Director for HR and Corporate Affairs.
Samantha Porter
Marketing Director
Samantha Porter has worked in financial services for more than 20 years and has been with Wesleyan since 1995. During that time she has held a number of different roles within the Society, including Sales Operations Manager and Strategic Marketing Manager. As Marketing Director, Samantha has been responsible for co-ordinating a number of important strategic projects including the implementation of the Retail Distribution Review and ensuring the Society delivers its Customer Proposition to maximum effect. She also has the responsibility for Marketing Strategy and Operations, Product Strategy and Development, Corporate Communications and e-Business.
Liz McKenzie
Director of HR and Corporate Planning
Liz joined Wesleyan in October 2010 as Head of Corporate Planning. Prior to this she spent 19 years at Toyota in a variety of roles, including Business and Production Planning, Project Management and Continuous Improvement. Twelve months after joining the Society, Liz was made Director of HR and Corporate Planning. In addition to her previous responsibilities in Corporate Planning, she also oversees HR Operations, Learning and Development and Building & Support Services.
