Dr Craig Errington, D.Univ C Dir, FIoD
Group Chief Executive
Craig Errington who was awarded Overall UK Director of the Year by the Institute of Directors in 2011, joined the Society in 1991. He received several promotions through the ranks of the sales force and in 2002 was appointed to the Board as Group Sales Director, before being appointed Chief Executive in April 2005. He is Chairman of the Society's Executive Committee, Wesleyan Financial Services Limited, Wesleyan Unit Trust Managers Limited, Practice Plan Holdings Ltd and the Wesleyan Members Advisory Board. Craig is also a Director of the Association of Financial Mutuals.
Liz McKenzie, BEng, DipIoD
Chief Operating Officer
Liz joined Wesleyan in October 2010 as Head of Corporate Planning. Prior to this she spent 19 years at Toyota in a variety of roles in production control and manufacturing. Twelve months after joining the Society, Liz was made Director of HR and Corporate Planning. She joined the Board in November 2014 as Group Corporate Services Director.
In 2015 Liz was appointed Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for Wesleyan Financial Services, General Insurance, Practice Plan, Life & Pensions, the Transformation and operational excellence functions and IT. She is also Chair of DPAS, which was acquired by Wesleyan in 2015.
Liz is also chair of Wesleyan's Charity Advisory Committee, which has helped the Society raise more than £1.5 million for local and national charities. In june 2016 Liz won the IoD West Midlands Director of the Year Award for a Large Business.
Chief Customer and Strategy Officer
Vicki joined Wesleyan in 2016 from LV=, where she was Brand & Marketing Director. Before embarking on a career in financial services, she spent ten years as an officer in the British Army after graduating from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. She then joined Aviva, working in a number of positions, rising to Director of Global Customer Strategy, before moving to LV=. At Wesleyan Vicki has responsibility for Marketing, Business Planning, HR and the Company Secretariat.
Steve Deutsch, BEng, ACIB, C Dir, FIoD
Chief Executive, Wesleyan Bank & Syscap
Steve Deutsch joined the Society in October 2005 following 19 years in a variety of roles at Lloyds TSB. He was appointed Chief Executive, Wesleyan Bank & Syscap in May 2015, having previously been Managing Director of Wesleyan Bank since October 2012. Steve has the responsibility for driving the growth of Wesleyan Bank & Syscap so that combined they deliver a more significant contribution to the Wesleyan Group.
Prior to that Steve had been Operations Director, Commercial Director and Chief Operating Officer-Sales.
Roger Dix MA, FIA, MIRM
Chief Risk Officer
Roger Dix joined Wesleyan in February 2013 as Chief Risk Officer. He has spent more than 35 years within the Insurance and Reinsurance sector. An actuary by qualification, he has worked in Risk for more than a decade and has been actively involved in shaping this part of the industry as it develops. He has previously worked as Chief Risk Officer at LV= and the UK Life arm of Aviva. Roger heads the team managing the Society's risk and compliance activity as Wesleyan continues its growth programme.
Chief Financial Officer
Ahmed joined the Wesleyan Finance department in 2010 from The Phoenix Group. He became Head of Finance in 2011, before moving to become Head of General Insurance in 2013. He moved to become Managing Director of General Insurance, before becoming Wesleyan's Chief Financial Officer in November 2015.
Ahmed is also chair of Business Professional Services Birmingham, which represents the professional and financial services sector of Greater Birmingham.
Doug Bright, MA, FIA
Doug Bright joined Wesleyan from Eagle Star Insurance in 1987. He qualified as an actuary in 1988 after studying Maths at St John's College, Oxford.
Doug has held a number of senior roles with the Society including Head of Actuarial Services, Head of Product Strategy and Development and Head of Risk and was appointed Company Secretary in January 2014. In addition to his company secretarial duties he is also responsible for corporate governance issues.
Clive Bridge, BSc, FCIPD, FloD, CDir
Managing Director, Life and Pensions
Clive Bridge joined Wesleyan in 2009 as Director of HR and became Chief Operating Officer of Manufacturing in 2011. Since then, in addition to Life and Pensions he was responsible for various businesses within the Wesleyan Group including Wesleyan Bank and Practice Plan.
Currently in his role as MD for Life and Pensions, and CEO of Wesleyan Unit Trust Managers, he is responsible for the strategy, product development, servicing and overall profitability of all manufactured Pension, Investment and Protection business. Clive also became a Board member for the Investment & Life Assurance Group (ILAG), in June 2016.
Prior to Wesleyan, Clive worked for over 18 years at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in a number of roles, culminating as Board Director for HR and Corporate Affairs.
Andrew D'Arcy, B Com, ACII, DipIoD, FIoD
Managing Director, Practice Plan
Andrew D'Arcy joined Wesleyan in July 2008 following seven years with RBS Group where he worked in a variety of senior roles in Insurance and Consumer Finance in the UK and Europe. Prior to that he worked for KPMG Consulting specialising in the delivery of major change programmes. He is a Bachelor of Commerce and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Andrew was Wesleyan's Director of General Insurance before becoming Managing Director of Practice Plan, the leading provider of practice-branded dental membership plans, following its acquisition by the Society in October 2013.
Managing Director, Wesleyan Financial Services
Alan Jones joined Wesleyan in February 2014 and is responsible for overseeing the team of Financial Consultants around the country.
He has more than 20 years’ experience in sales and joined Wesleyan from Prudential where he was Sales Director and oversaw the creation of its direct sales force.
Tim Pindar, BA, FIA
Tim Pindar qualified as an actuary in 1988. He joined Medical Sickness Society in 1989 and moved into the Society upon the merger of the two Societies in 1997. He became the Society's Appointed Actuary in 2002 and since 2004 has had overall responsibility for the provision of all actuarial and technical services to the Society. He is the Society's Actuarial Function Holder and With profits Actuary. Tim has served on several actuarial working parties and co-authored a number of actuarial papers.
Director of Transformation
Steve joined Wesleyan in 2014 to help deliver its ambitious growth programme. As Director of Transformation, he is co-co-ordinating a five year growth programme to enable Wesleyan to increase its presence in the medical, dental, legal and teaching markets.
Steve began his career as a chartered accountant with PWC before moving into strategy and change management. He has worked extensively in the financial services sector with companies such as Bristol & West and Axa Life, with interim roles with Zurich, Friends Provident, Nationwide and Lloyds, as well as in IT infrastructure with IBM.
Clive C Ward BSc FIA
Managing Director, Investments
Clive Ward joined the Society as an actuarial assistant in 1986 after graduating from Southampton University with a BSc in Maths and Actuarial Science. After qualifying as an actuary he joined the Wesleyan investment team in 1990 and has been the lead fund manager on a number of Wesleyan funds for more than 20 years. He has also had responsibility for the Society's team of fund managers and investment analysts since 1993.
He is a member of the London Stock Exchange Midlands Regional Advisory Group and has assisted the examinations division of the Chartered Insurance Institute for many years.
Commercial Director, Wesleyan Bank Ltd, Managing Director,Syscap Ltd
Philip has been a key driver in Syscap's growth, helping the company's turnover increase from £3m to over £150m. With a strong background in sales and technology, Philip became Sales Director in 1999, and has taken a decisive role in shaping the company's future direction and success. He was appointed CEO in July 2006 following a funded management buyout. In 2015, when Syscap was acquired by the Wesleyan Group, Philip took the helm as Commercial Director to continue his success within Syscap.
