Charges for overdrawn balances

Your Wesleyan Bank account may not be overdrawn, but if any debit balance does arise you can go up to £250 overdrawn at any time without being charged a fee. All you pay is 8% EAR* debit interest.

If you go more than £250 overdrawn, interest is charged at 25% EAR*. You will also pay a monthly management fee of £15.

*EAR is the Equivalent Annual Rate.

Privilege Account Tariff

Privilege Account services are offered for a monthly fee of £8 and will be deducted from your account at the end of every calendar month.

General Charges

If you do not have enough money in your account to cover the amount of any withdrawal, we may refuse to pay it and make the following charges:

Cheque, direct debit or standing order not able to be paid due to insufficient funds £10.00

Monthly charge for unauthorised overdraft £15.00
Cash Machine (ATM) charges

We will not make any charges when you take money out of your Classic Account or Privilege Account at any cash machine in the UK.

Some machine owners may charge for the use of their cash machines.

When you make your withdrawal they will tell you the amount of the charge and you authorise us to deduct these charges from your account. 

Charges for using your card abroad

If you use your card abroad and make transactions other than sterling, the amount of each transaction will be changed to sterling on the date Visa International process the payment.

We reserve the right to include a conversion fee of up to 2.25% of the transaction. The transfer may be subject to other charges levied by the bank abroad, which will be included in the debit to your account. A handling fee of up to £1.50 may also apply.

Under the Wesleyan Bank Account conditions, at any time we may require you to pay us any overdraft interest or charges, which you owe on your account. Interest and charges are due when they are incurred, however, we will give you at least 14 days notice before we take any interest or charge out of your account (apart from the monthly service fee for your Privilege Account which will be deducted from your account at the end of every calendar month).

We may change charges and make new or different ones (or change the way you have to pay charges).
