|In September 2014, a nurse practitioner was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Benefit was paid for the maximum 48 weeks after the 4 weeks deferred period. A total payment of £58,697.45 was made.||When a GP was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, full benefit was paid until she was fit to make a phased return to work. Partial benefit continued until she was able to resume her usual hours. A total of £10,977.71 was paid. |

|Hip surgery prevented a practice nurse from working in December 2014. The weekly benefit was paid from February 2015 - after the initial four weeks deferred period. A total of £1,739 in benefit was paid during her absence. She made a phased return to work in March 2015 using her holiday entitlement and so the claim ended.||A GP fractured his clavicle in August 2014. Benefits were paid after the initial 4 weeks deferred period until his return to work in January 2015. A total of £6,481.86 was paid. |
