Expert explains why dentists need travel insurance
Dentists and other dental professionals may be interested to hear the reasoning of an expert who stated that everyone needs to purchase travel insurance.
Erica Silverstein, from SmarterTravel.com, wrote an article on her company's website discussing how she paid the price for neglecting to purchase cover when she went on a cruise and got ill.
Discussing how she had been charged $200 (£100) for a doctor visit and an injection, she said: "The reality is even young, healthy people can run into problems on the road.
"The cost of travel insurance is small compared to paying out of pocket for emergency medical care, extended hotel stays and new clothing in a foreign country where the dollar is weak."
Ms Silverstein's advice echoed recent comments from the Guardian relating to skiing holiday cover.
