Savings for trainee dentists if they act quickly
Trainee dentists in the UK could save a few pounds if they act quickly to be registered, it has been reported.
Professionals involved in dental care qualifying before July 30 2008 can get away with paying less for their registration fee if they do so before the end of the year, according to Dentistry.co.uk.
To become registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) dentists currently have to pay £72. However, this rate is set to rise to £96 on January 1.
If a person registers and then fails to qualify, they will be able to claim their money back.
Spokesperson for the GDC Edward Bannatyne said: "This special offer is designed to encourage and motivate dental nurses and dental students who are coming to the end of their training to apply early, well ahead of the July deadline.
"Come on, get those forms in. You can only gain by applying now. We don't want anyone to miss the boat."
According to the British Dental Association, student debt levels drive the career choice of dental graduates.
