Wesleyan is Top of the Class

Wesleyan Assurance Society, the financial services specialist for medical, dental, legal and teaching professionals has received a ten-out-of-ten rating for the fourth consecutive year in the recent Cazalet Consulting With Profits rating report - the only life to achieve since 2004.

The Society has also once again topped the Money Management With Profits endowment survey (April 2008) with the highest number of top ten appearances*

Craig Errington, Wesleyan's Chief Executive said, "As the general economic outlook remains uncertain, people will want to think carefully about where to invest their cash.

Wesleyan's With Profits investments are proven to providesome of the best payouts in the industry and should remain an attactive option for the cautious investor.

"Our financial strength is at the root of our success in the With Profits market, underpinned by our commitment to equities and careful investment approach.

At the end of 2007, equities and commercial property as a proportion of total assets invested stood at 82%, wheras most other life companies continue to have an equity ratio below 50%

"As a mutual, we are able to pass profits directly to our customers as there are no shareholders to consider."

The latest Cazalet Consulting With Profits Ratings (December 2007) rated Wesleyan a "rock-solid 10/10".

The independent research by respected industry analyst Ned Cazalet, described Wesleyan's liability bases as "robust", cash flow as "positive" and highlighted the seven year investment performance of 67.2%.

The report commented that "Wesleyan's WP policyholders should be very pleased with their choice of insurance company... unlike many other With Profit funds nowadays.

Wesleyan continues to provide considerable exposure to risk assets, in particular equities and commercial property, which are considered most likely to generate the highest investment returns over the medium to longer term."

Wesleyan is one of only two companies to achieve 35 appearances, out of a maximum of 40, for payouts on policies maturing over all four terms (10, 15, 20 and 25 year policies) in the Money Management With Profits endowments survey.

By comparison, two of their largest competitors, Legal & General and Prudential, have appeared just five times each and ranked 22nd in the table.

Money Management, which is recognised as the UK's leading journal for professional financial consultants, also noted in its market-leading survey that for a term of 20 years "Wesleyan stands out as one of the few providers to have a higher payout than last year's survey".
