Further information

Taxation

Interest will be paid gross (without the deducation of tax).

From 6 April 2016 the government is introducing a Personal Savings Allowance. It’s how much savings interest you can earn without paying tax. If you’re a basic rate tax-payer, your Personal Savings Allowance is £1,000. If you’re a higher rate tax-payer, it’s £500. If you receive interest above your allowance then you may have additional tax to pay.

This information is based on our understanding of current taxation which may change in the future.

Interest

Interest is calculated on the daily cleared credit balance of your account and is applied to the account twice yearly on 30 June and 31 December.

Statements

We will provide you with a quarterly statement as at the end of March, June, September and December.

You may request additional statements but these may be subject to a charge as detailed in our account tariff.

Junior ISA

Invest in your child's future by opening a Cash Junior ISA, which lets you and your family and friends save up to £4,080 a year for your child, tax-free.
