The Junior Advisory Board is made up of members, ranging from medical and dental students to recently qualified doctors. Each individual was specially selected to create an advisory board that reflects the diverse nature of our younger healthcare professional clients. They offer a unique insight into their respective areas of expertise, providing a valuable resource to help build our knowledge and further develop this market.
Dr Ben Attwood
Qualified Doctor, Oxford Ben graduated from St Andrews in 2000 and then Cambridge in 2003. Whilst he was at St Andrew's he was President of The Medical Society.
His medical career started with house jobs in Cambridge and Chelsea. He then moved to Edinburgh where he did a three year rotation in medicine. He later switched from medical registrar to anaesthetics and intensive care, starting on rotation in Oxford.
Ben has been a member of Wesleyan since he was a student. His interests outside of medicine are music, classic cars and climbing. He is currently living in London.
Kyle Gibson
Medical Student, University of Edinburgh Kyle is a final year medical student at the University of Edinburgh and will go on to work as an academic foundation doctor in August 2010, in the south-east of Scotland. During his time at Edinburgh he has taken on the role of President of Edinburgh Student's Council and Co- President of ATRIUM, a society aimed at promoting academic medicine amongst undergraduate students.
Kyle is a keen sportsman and a bagpipes player. He also loves to travel and takes every opportunity to do so. In the future he hopes to combine his love of travel with a career in Academic Medicine.
Kieran Zucker
Medical Student, UCL London He was drawn to a career in medicine as it combined his love of academia with community spirit.
Outside of his studies Kieran is a keen amateur photographer and boxer. He also volunteers at local schools.
Shiv Chopra
Qualified Doctor, London Shiv is currently an FY1 at Northwick Park Hospital in London. He is undertaking a two year programme, part of which is with the NHS's Connecting for Health Initiative.
He is the hospital's current Mess President, the Academic representative for North West Thames Foundation School (NWTFS) and a former sabbatical president of Imperial College School of Medicine.
Shiv is keen to pursue a career in paediatric surgery and has an interest in medical management. With any spare time that he has, he runs a number of student websites.
Michelle Baker
Qualified Doctor, Plymouth Michelle is currently in her first year of core surgical training at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth. In 2007 she completed her undergraduate training at the Royal Free and University College Medical School London and intercalated BSc in Orthopaedic science at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore in 2003.
Michelle�s foundation years were spent at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, where she took up the post of Doctors' Mess President from 2008-2009.
Outside of work her hobbies include rowing, running, surfing and salsa dancing.
Krishna Kasaraneni
Qualified Doctor, Nottingham Krishna graduated from Leicester Warwick Medical School in 2005 and moved to Yorkshire for his foundation training. He spent three years in surgical training during which he was a member of the quality assurance and educational committees.
He is now pursuing new challenges and has made a career change to General Practice.
Originally from the North East, he now calls Sheffield home and sees himself spending his professional career in South Yorkshire.
A passionate Newcastle United supporter, he coaches rugby and is a keen sportsman. He combines his love of medicine with his sporting skills to provide medical assistance at Thai Boxing Events.
Vaibhav Gupta
Medical Student, Nottingham Medical School
Vaibhav is a medical student at the University of Nottingham and brings a unique perspective to the Junior Advisory Board. Not only is he is the youngest Board member but as an international student he brings a global viewpoint. He is excited to be a part of Wesleyan because he feels it fuses both the medical and business worlds.
Vaibhav is an active member of the University, teaching anatomy to first and second year students. He has a diverse range of interests including running popular salsa dance classes.
Lauren Holmes
Dental Student, Kings College Dental Institute After a four year career as a medical representative in the Pharmaceutical Industry, Lauren embarked on a journey to become a dentist. She is currently attending Kings College Dental Institute and is part of the Graduate Entry Programme.
When she isn't studying, Lauren is pushing herself to physical limits as part of the Officer Training Corp. She will also take up the role of Student President, a position that will keep her busy as she is part of the largest Dental school in the country.
Any quiet time is spent with her two huskies at home in the New Forest.
