Wesleyan Assurance Society has won its second major award in a month after scooping the Birmingham Post Business Award for Professional Services.
In the hotly contested category, which had record entries this year, the Birmingham-based mutual beat off competition from Handelsbanken, Deutsche Bank and R&D Tax and Grants.
This latest accolade comes just weeks after chief executive Craig Errington was named Director of the Year at the national IoD Awards in London.
Marketing Director Sam Porter said: "We are delighted to have won this award, especially as we are celebrating our 170th anniversary this year. As one of the few national companies to have a head office in the city, we are proud to go up against, and beat, strong competition from international firms and build on the success we've already had this year."
Wesleyan provides specialist financial services for doctors, dentists, teachers and lawyers. It is one of the financially strongest life assurance offices in the UK and has continued to grow, despite the economic downturn. In the five years to 2010 it saw new business sales increase by 238%.
