BDA Oral Health Month launched
Colgate-Palmolive is preparing to hold its annual Oral Health Month campaign to promote the benefits of good dental care.
The dental supplier is teaming up with organisations including the British Dental Association and industry professionals for the event in September.
Colgate will attempt to highlight the problems facing oral health during the month, Dentistry.co.uk said.
The theme of this year's campaign is having a good oral care regime.
In a bid to boost dental hygiene, educational materials and practice packs will be given out, alongside samples and stickers.
Professional development programmes will also explore the concept of patient understanding and the prevention of dental issues.
Last year's Oral Hygiene Month was successful amongst participants with 90 per cent of people rating it as very good or quite good, Colgate data reveals.
In 2010 the event focussed on the importance of visiting the dentist regularly, brushing frequently and avoiding snacks with lots of sugar to keep teeth healthy.
