Annual General Meeting

Annual General Meeting 2020: Thursday 18 June, 2.00pm.

HAVE YOUR SAY

If you are a member of Wesleyan, you are entitled to have a say in the way we run our business, by voting on resolutions in our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

This year's AGM takes place at 2.00pm on Thursday 18 June.

A different approach to our 2020 AGM

Due to the fast-moving situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, we need to operate our AGM differently this year. Government advice on social distancing means we are unable to hold our AGM in the usual manner, by hosting the meeting at our Head Office.

So, we have taken the decision to use video conferencing technology to host our meeting.

There are two ways that members can take part in the 2020 AGM:

1. Participate by video conference on Thursday 18 June

If you plan to 'attend' the AGM, you will be able to participate via an online video platform, likely to be GoToWebinar.

Please register your place by sending your name and address by email to agm@wesleyan.co.uk .

We will then send you a link to the online meeting by email and instructions prior to the AGM. At 2pm on Thursday 18 June, members will be able to dial-in to the meeting and participate by voting on resolutions.

Due to the limitations of technology we have taken the decision to take questions before and after the AGM but not during the meeting. These questions will be answered and, where appropriate, answers will also be posted on this webpage.

Members wishing to submit a question can do this by emailing agm@wesleyan.co.uk.

2. Vote online in advance of the meeting

If you can't participate in the AGM by video conference, you can vote in advance of the meeting via our secure online voting site. Voting closes at 2pm on Monday 15 June. You can find your two-part security codes in your AGM email or on page 2 of your AGM letter.

Special Business

This year, we have one special resolution that relates to protecting your membership rights and benefits, should we wish to distribute our products through third parties, such as online investment platforms, in future.

We have proposed some changes to the Rules of the Society to ensure that those purchasing products through third parties are not entitled to become a member of Wesleyan.

A copy of the Rules of the Society document, with the proposed changes marked, is available here, to aide your vote on this resolution.

Your vote counts

This year, for every vote registered, we will donate £1 to Magic Breakfast, who provide healthy breakfasts and expert support to schools around the UK where children arrive in the morning too hungry to learn.

If you have any queries, please email agm@wesleyan.co.uk.
