Top marks for Wesleyan as they set industry precedent

Wesleyan Assurance Society has received a ten-out-of-ten rating for overall financial strength for the fifth consecutive year in the prestigious Cazalet Consulting With Profits rating report.

Wesleyan is the only life office to have secured top marks for five consecutive years, setting a new precedent in Cazalet rankings.

Craig Errington, Wesleyan’s Chief Executive said, “This is great news and something we are very proud of. The Society’s financial strength provides our customers with the comfort of knowing that even in the most volatile market conditions we have the financial resources to maintain the course we have set.  We are also thrilled to be the only life office to have retained this score for five years in a row.

“It is clear that recent events have impacted on the public’s trust in financial institutions.  Consequently, people are likely to be more cautious about where they invest their money.  The Cazalet report highlights the strength of our with profits investments and we believe they will remain an attractive option for investors.

“As a mutual with no shareholders to consider, we have been able to maintain our focus on taking the right long term decisions to grow the Society and benefit our policyholders during this difficult economic climate.”

The latest Cazalet Consulting With Profits Ratings (July 2009) ranked Wesleyan a rock-solid 10/10.  Ned Cazalet, the respected insurance industry analyst who carried out the independent research, commented, “Wesleyan continues to top the charts with regard to with profits financial strength, investment flexibility and underlying investment performance.”
