Double award win for Wesleyan Group

Wesleyan, the Birmingham-based specialist financial services provider, has won two national awards for its innovation and support of SMEs.

The implementation of Wesleyan Bank's new banking system was recognised for its innovation in the Most Effective Back Office Initiative category at the IFS/BBA (Institute of Financial Services / British Bankers Association) Financial Innovation Awards.

Meanwhile, Syscap, the UK's leading independent provider of short-term business loans, IT leasing and asset finance, which Wesleyan acquired earlier this year, won the UK SME Champion category at Leasing Life's Annual Awards.

Steve Deutsch, chief executive of Wesleyan Bank and Syscap, said: "These awards recognise the overriding commitment to our customers. Busy professionals expect quick, simple and streamlined financial services, so an investment in technology is an investment for customers.

Since rolling out the new banking system earlier this year, Wesleyan Bank has been able to streamline and automate many of its business processes and easily extract key data for marketing, analysis and reporting.

Steve added: "Small businesses are the enterprising backbone of the UK economy, but they have not always been able to get the support they need from traditional lenders. This is what makes the Syscap award so special, it recognises that we're at the forefront of helping SMEs realise their aspirations."

Philip White, Syscap Managing Director, added: "I'm truly delighted with this win - recognition that we're determined to help SMEs achieve their goals and will support them every step of the way. We look forward to supporting many more small businesses in the future."

Syscap won the UK SME Champion prize after helping 21,000 small businesses achieve funding through a range of products covering asset finance, short-term loans, professional fees and tax payments for over 25 years.
