Wesleyan Chief Executive to chair FCA Smaller Business Practitioner Panel

Craig Errington, Group Chief Executive of specialist financial mutual Wesleyan, has been appointed Chair of the Financial Conduct Authority's Smaller Business Practitioner Panel from 1 April 2017.

The panel represents the interests of small and medium-sized financial services providers across a range of regulated activities and provides input to the FCA.

As chair, Craig will also become an ex-officio member of the FCA Practitioner Panel, which helps to provide a coordinated industry view to the regulator. He'll ensure the perspective of smaller firms is considered throughout any deliberations.<

Craig, who has been a member of the FCA Smaller Business Practitioner Panel since May 2013, said: "The panel plays an important part in our industry and I'm looking forward to meeting regularly with the Chairman and Chief Executive of the FCA to discuss the interests of the smaller and medium-sized firms.

"These companies may not be on every high street or be well known to general consumers, but still look after billions of pounds of customers' money and it's important their interests, and those of their customers and members, are well represented with the FCA."

Dr Craig Errington

Craig marked 25 years' service with Wesleyan last year.

He was the 2011 overall IoD Director of the year and received an honorary doctorate from Birmingham City University in recognition of his contribution to the finance sector in 2015.
