Wesleyan appoints new Head of Strategy

Mr Abe Malik, Head of Group Strategy

Wesleyan has appointed Abe Malik as its new Head of Group Strategy.

He will be responsible for developing the Wesleyan Group's vision and strategy to support its growth ambitions.

Abe said: "Wesleyan has seen tremendous success in recent years and we wish to see this continue in a challenging and evolving marketplace.

"This is a key time for the financial services sector, and the Wesleyan Group is putting plans in place to ensure it can cope and thrive with any change. It is critical we make the right choices during this period, as this will determine our course for the next decade and beyond.

"I'm looking forward to working with people across the business to develop these ideas and plans to ensure Wesleyan continues to be a successful and forward looking mutual."

Prior to joining Wesleyan, Abe built up a mixture of consulting and industry experience, working with firms such as KPMG and Capgemini. More recently he has worked in the mutual sector for both LV= and the Co-operative Bank on group strategy and design, customer and member strategy development, growth planning and customer value propositions.

Vicki Wentworth, Chief Customer and Strategy Officer at Wesleyan, said: "Abe brings a broad range of experience and insight into this key role. He will begin work on our long-term strategic design, to help us cement the future view of our market position and direction."

Wesleyan provides specialist financial advice and services to doctors, dentists, teachers and lawyers.
