News Release - Wesleyan one of the first to sign inclusivity pledge

Wesleyan, the specialist financial services mutual, has today become one of the first companies to sign an industry-wide inclusivity pledge.

Wesleyan joined insurers, industry bodies and brokers to sign the Inclusive Behaviours Pledge, designed to address all forms of discrimination in the insurance sector.

This is the latest in a number of inclusion and diversity initiatives the mutual has been a part of, including the launch of employee network groups, signing the Women in Finance Charter and joining LGBT charity Stonewall's Diversity Champions Programme.

The pledge has attracted a wave of support, with 50 firms signing up to demonstrate the insurance profession's unwavering commitment to inclusivity.

It contains a series of commitments, with an obligation for clear policies and procedures for reporting any inappropriate or discriminatory behaviour.

Group Chief Executive Craig Errington was delighted to sign up to the pledge.

"We are fully committed to driving more diverse thinking, creativity and innovation throughout Wesleyan. A diverse workforce will help us to make better decisions and be more reflective of the customers we serve," he said.

"The ethos at Wesleyan is 'We Care', and signing this pledge is another way that we can absolutely commit to treating everyone in the organisation with dignity and respect."
