Wesleyan Junior Advisory Board member, Dr Bhavagaya Bakshi, has won a prestigious Tech4Good award for her tireless work on a digital tool that aims to help GPs make an early diagnosis of cancer.
The 'C the Signs' is decision support tool, available on IOS, android and as a website, that uses artificial intelligence, combined with national evidence-based guidelines, to help General Practitioners (GPs) identify patients with Cancer at an earlier stage.
'C the signs' is being piloted across two Clinical Commissioning Groups and has already gained widespread support from leading organisations like NHS England, Macmillan and Cancer Research UK. Following completion of the pilot, the tool will be launched nationally to all GPs.
Vicki Wentworth, Wesleyan's Chief Customer and Strategy Officer congratulated Dr Bakshi on her award, saying; "We're so proud of Bea and delighted to have someone with her talent and vision on our Junior Advisory Board supporting us as we seek to find the most innovative solutions for our customers through our own digital strategy."
The judging panel included leaders from organisations including the BBC, The Guardian and Microsoft.
