News Release - New Wesleyan Apprentices - You're Hired

Specialist financial mutual Wesleyan has told a group of nine young apprentices: "You're hired!" after welcoming them to its Birmingham head office.

Since the programme began in 2010, more than 75 apprentices have joined the company, working in departments across the business giving them an alternative career route into financial services.

The apprenticeship scheme will last at least 18 months, during which the trainees will work full time gaining valuable financial services experience and work towards an NVQ qualification.

Harshil Kudhail, who moved to Birmingham from London to take up his Wesleyan actuarial apprenticeship, said: "The opportunity to become part of the Wesleyan team through a scheme that will help me become a fully qualified actuary - while also working alongside very experienced actuaries - really helped me decide on the move from London to Birmingham."

Caroline Hill, Director of HR and Corporate Services at Wesleyan, said: "Our apprentices are now an integral part of our recruitment process, enabling us to bring young talent into the business and develop them into various roles.

"We are proud our apprenticeship programme provides an alternative route into the industry, one that is accessible to everyone and offers hands-on experience alongside a formal qualification."

Wesleyan, provides specialist financial services to doctors, dentists, teachers and lawyers.
