Health Education England (HEE) has released the second and third of six short films designed to promote general practice as a career option to foundation doctors and medical students.
The #nothinggeneral campaign aims to ‘tackle the perception that general practice is not as exciting as other medical specialities’, according to RCGP chairwoman Dr Maureen Baker.
Referencing the #nothinggeneral campaign, West Midlands deanery has since reported on Twitter that it has seen a 'surge' in GP applications, and it had to secure an additional interview day to meet demand.
The campaign forms part of the 10-point GP workforce plan, and is one of a range of schemes designed to help the government hit its target to recruit 5,000 additional GPs by 2020.
