Wesleyan Celebrates Triple Award Win

Wesleyan, the Birmingham-based specialist financial mutual, has been named the best active asset manager at a prestigious national awards.

The assurance society, which is based on Colmore Row, was named Active Manager of the Year at the inaugural Insurance Asset Management awards in London last week, after being shortlisted alongside AXA, Columbia Threadneedle, JP Morgan and Schroders.

The honour came on the back of two other national award wins for the society after it scooped Best Integrated Marketing Campaign, and Best Life and Pensions Marketing Activity at the Financial Services Forum.

Wesleyan was named as Best Active Asset Manager after demonstrating to the independent judging panel that throughout the year and across its entire fund range, it had consistently made the correct strategic investment decisions and the correct stock picks time and again.

Meanwhile, two Financial Services Forum awards recognised the impact that Wesleyan's pre-retirement seminars had on helping teaching professionals to understand their pension options, and effectively plan for life after work, and especially their customer-focused approach, and for working closely with support groups across the community.

Robert Vaudry, Managing Director of Investments at Wesleyan, said: "Our investments team has had another fantastic year and it's great to see a team outside the Square Mile in London win such a prestigious award.

"Recognition like this proves it isn't necessary for investment teams to work in the capital to be successful. We have always prided ourselves on being Birmingham-based, and being able to take a longer, and more detached view of the markets, that firms in London don't always have the time to take."

Vicki Wentworth, Wesleyan's Chief Customer Officer, said: "Winning three national awards in a week is testament to the hard work of all our teams here at Wesleyan.

"We've made real progress in offering a more customer-centric approach to our campaigns over the past year so it's fantastic to see this hard work being independently recognised. We look forward to developing new, integrated campaigns in 2018 and beyond."
