Wesleyan Director Named Chief Investment Officer of the Year

Wesleyan's Robert Vaudry has been named Chief Investment Officer of the Year for transforming the strategic approach and working culture of the firm's investment team.

He fought off stiff competition to receive the accolade from The Insurance Asset Risk Awards (IAR Awards) that celebrate excellence across Europe's insurance asset management sector.

The judges were impressed by Robert's impact and influence on Wesleyan's investment team since he joined the business in February 2017, particularly how he has improved the overall communication and understanding of the investment offering with customers and advisors.

Robert said: "One of my main reasons for joining the investments team at Wesleyan was that, despite a track record of strong fund performance, it was also one of the industry's best-kept secrets.

"I couldn't have won this award without the hard work and dedication of my team who have been integral in enabling me to achieve so much of what I set out to do.

"Our aim now is to continue delivering strong fund performance and competitive customer returns, as we continue to refine our award-winning investment strategy."

Craig Errington, Group Chief Executive at Wesleyan, said: "Robert has brought a real energy and passion to his role at Wesleyan and significantly improved communications with our Financial Consultants so they are better able to share the value of Wesleyan's investment proposition with our customers. He has also brought a strong external focus to the team which has been invaluable."

Robert is due to receive his award at a gala ceremony at the Tower Bridge Walkways in London on 7 March 2019.
