Going on your elective in 2017? Bring your experience to life with help from Wesleyan

Wesleyan Electives Blog Competition 2017

We're looking for keen and enthusiastic medical or dental students who'll be able to bring their elective experience to life by blogging for us during their experience.  If you think that you're the right person for the job, then read on.

How to enter

Either:
1. Write an introductory short blog post no longer than 400 words or
2. Submit a vlog no longer than 3 minutes

Sharing with us where you're planning on going on your elective, what you're planning to do and why? 

Post it below or email it to: electives@wesleyan.co.uk .

(For vlogs, please upload it to You Tube or Vimeo and send the link to electives@wesleyan.co.uk)
  
TOP TIPS

  • Introduce yourself
  • keep it short, concise but interesting
  • write or talk about what your fellow students would want to read or know about!
  • be creative - photographs will speak volumes (please ensure that they are your own)


Prize

If we love your blog or vlog post and publish it on our website, you'll win £100 Love2shop vouchers and an invitation to write more blog posts once you're on your elective in 2017, giving you the chance to get £100 Love2shop vouchers per blog post (up to a maximum of £400).  You can use the vouchers at over 100 retailers across the UK.

1. To be entered into the competition, entrants must be a UK resident, over the age of 18 and will be going on their Elective in 2017.
2. Only one entry per Facebook profile is permitted, for each elective blog/vlog competition.
3. To enter the competition, each participant must follow (like) Wesleyan's facebook page and submit their blog or vlog post either here  or email to ContentTeam@wesleyan.co.uk
4. The introductory blog posts should be no longer than 400 words and you can include photographs or images.
The vlog should be no longer than 3 minutes. When creating When creating the vlog, it is recommended that you use the highest image quality setting your camera or mobile can achieve.
5.  Vlog entries over 3 minutes long and/or blogs over 400 words will not be considered.
6. By entering this competition, entrants confirm that the blog posts they submit is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.
7. Closing Date is 18 April 2017.
8. By entering the competition, you are granting permission for the blog/vlog and any images to be used by Wesleyan Assurance Society online at www.wesleyan.co.uk. You must be the author / copyright holder of any content provided.  Entrants will be credited if their content is used. 
9.  Only one entry per Facebook profile is permitted.
10. Entrants will be judged by a panel of judges and up to ten winners will be selected that are the most engaging and best convey their creativity and enthusiasm.
11. If your blog/vlog post is published, you will receive £100 Love2shop vouchers and you may be invited to write more blog/vlog posts about your elective. If you're invited to write more blog posts about your elective experience, for each blog post written, you will receive £100 Love2shop vouchers (up to a maximum £400 Love2shop vouchers).    
12. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook. You are providing your information to Wesleyan Assurance Society and not to Facebook.
13.  No purchase is necessary.
14.  Wesleyan Assurance Society reserves the right to substitute another prize of similar value (no cash alternative).
15. No alternative prize is available.
16. The prize cannot be transferable to another person.
17. Employees (and their immediate families) of Wesleyan Assurance Society, its agents and anyone professionally connected with the promotion are not eligible.
18. Entrant's details, answers, and photographs may be used for publicity purposes and on the Wesleyan Assurance Society Facebook page.
19. We will contact you to arrange a convenient time for delivery of the prize.
20. If the winner does not come forward to claim their prize after one calendar month, an alternative winner will be selected.
21. The winner's name may be obtained after this date by writing to the promoter: Wesleyan Assurance Society, Marketing Dept, Colmore Circus, Birmingham B4 6AR.
22. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
23. Wesleyan Assurance Society reserves the right to amend these rules or withdraw offer any time without notice, if events or circumstances occur outside of the control of Wesleyan Assurance Society.
