Wesleyan grows intermediaries team with new appointments

Justin Towlson, Gavin Ingram and Tony Lord have been appointed as Regional Sales Managers for London and South East, Scotland and Northern Ireland and the Midlands respectively.
They will be responsible for accelerating the expansion of Wesleyan’s smoothed With Profits Fund across the UK adviser market. The fund’s platform-first design and smoothing mechanism overcome historic barriers to smoothed funds operating independently on-platform, enabling advisers to benefit from daily pricing, trading and smoothing.
Andy Mackelworth, former Regional Sales Manager for the Midlands, has also been appointed as National Account Manager. He will be responsible for cultivating relationships with advice firms and their platform partners to support the integration of Wesleyan’s fund into their investment propositions.
New hires Justin, Gavin and Tony bring decades of experience supporting financial advisers to their roles. Justin joins Wesleyan from Aegon, where he led a sales team engaged in nurturing key client relationships. Gavin joins as a former BDM, where he worked in fund management and platforms. Tony joins from Elston Consulting and previously was at Wealthtime Platform.
The appointments come as Wesleyan marks the fourth anniversary of its intermediaries distribution team. In 2021, its smoothed With Profits Fund becoming of its kind on an independent platform – Wealthtime. Since then, the fund has been added to Nucleus Wrap and Aberdeen Wrap.
Chris Whittingham, National Sales Manager at Wesleyan, said: "We’re continuing to expand our intermediaries team to help more advisers access the benefits of smoothing on-platform during a time of prolonged market volatility.
"It’s been four years since we launched our flagship fund to the intermediary market, and the skills and experience Justin, Gavin, Tony and Andy’s appointments will enable us to maximise a busy pipeline of growth opportunities in the years ahead."
