Having an extension or building works done to your home?
If you're scheduling an extension onto your home, it's important to make sure that you have adequate insurance in case anything goes wrong.
Your home is one of your most valuable assets. As a broker, Wesleyan Financial Services search a panel of leading home insurance providers for you to find the best policy tailored to meet your needs.
Standard home insurance policies can leave your home vulnerable during building work. They don't necessarily cover the work, materials on site and the liability exposures. With the policies that we offer, we can cover you annually or temporarily while your extension or building work is ongoing. Once the work is finished you can then have a new quote for your home insurance.
Occasionally clauses in a builder's contract may require your home insurance to be in joint names with the builders / contractors. This can potentially remove your insurers' subrogation rights - an insurer's right to legally pursue a third party that caused an insurance loss to the insured. We work with a panel of insurers that can protect you in these situations by either covering the home and the building works, or just the home itself.
Limits, exclusions and charges do apply. Full terms and conditions of the policy and cover, including the policy benefits and exclusions, will be contained in the Policy Wording and Policy Summary. Risk must be acceptable to underwriters at normal terms.
