How it works

Has your current insurer refused to renew your policy? Have your premiums increased on the back of multiple claims? If your claims history has made it difficult for you to get standard home insurance, we’re here to help.

We work with a panel of providers that understand the situation you’re in. Once you’ve shared your claims history with the team, we’ll go back to our panel to see if we can find you cover.

What's covered?

You can tailor your policy to suit the level of protection you need for your home. Your policy can include:

  • Loss or damage
  • Cover if your home is broken into and your possessions are stolen, or your buildings or items are damaged by natural events like fires, storms or floods.

  • Personal belongings
  • Whether you’re at home or away, your belongings are protected.

  • Alternative accommodation
  • You're protected if your home isn't fit to live in following an insured event (like a fire or a flood). Get alternative accommodation for you, your family and your pets.

  • Garden cover
  • For those with green fingers – you’re insured on your sheds, plants and equipment.

  • Trace and access cover
  • With trace and access cover, you’re not just covered for the cost of repairing a water or oil leak, but also any damage caused when tracing the source of the leak.

  • Damage to additional items
  • Get cover for items some insurers forget, like damaged solar panels, sanitary ware, cables and domestic and underground pipes.

What's not covered?

Your policy will not cover you for:

  • Loss or damage on an unoccupied home
  • Depending on your chosen policy, your buildings or contents can’t be covered if you’re away for more than 30, 45 or 60 days in a row.


  • Certain damages
  • Such as damage caused by wear and tear, vermin and insects, fungus, damp, light, wet or dry rot.


  • Contractors working on the premises
  • Cover doesn’t include damage to your property or liability arising from any major works being carried out. For this type of cover, you might need renovation insurance.

Enhance your cover

For extra peace of mind, you can add the Total Home Protection package to your policy. For an additional fee, you'll get cover including: 

  • Home emergency assistance
  • A network of registered tradespeople will be on-hand 24/7 to help with burst pipes, lack of heating or no hot water.

  • Family legal expenses
  • Get protection against disputes such as employment issues and neighbour problems, up to a limit of £50,000.

  • Key cover
  • Misplaced your keys or have a broken lock? The costs of a replacement or repair will be covered to save you paying an excess or losing your no claims bonus. Your car keys can be covered too.

  • ID theft
  • There’s only one ‘you’, so let’s keep it that way. If your identity is stolen, you'll get a personal action plan to get it back.
