Going on holiday? Then, make sure you're prepared

The recent severe weather, natural disasters, unexpected flight cancellations and delays have disrupted many people's travel plans over the last few weeks. Some things you just can't control but it would give you peace of mind, knowing that if the unexpected happens, you're prepared for it.

Here are some of the features from our travel insurance policy, to help make travelling a little easier, if your arrangements don't go to plan.

pad-man1. 360 Assistance - A helping hand

With just a click away, 360 Assistance can provide you with online information on most countries around the world such as the latest medical, political and security situation.  So, whether you need to know what vaccinations you need, where the nearest hospital is or you need to find the British embassy - the information is available at your fingertips.

Stay one step ahead with email alerts for the countries you're travelling to - they will advise you of events as they happen, that could potentially disrupt your travel plans such as severe weather, industrial strikes or outbreak of disease.

Plus, the experienced support team is on hand 24/7, if you need extra assistance.  If you have lost your luggage or passport or you simply want to be kept up to date with the latest developments, the team can support you.

2. Stranded Passenger - let us look after you if you're flight is cancelled or delayed

When you're travelling, there's nothing worse than a cancelled or delayed flight - you can be stuck in departures, competing with other fellow travellers to find a place to sit or a free table to grab something to eat.  With travel insurance from Wesleyan, we can make your long wait more comfortable and stress free.  If you're flight is delayed by more than 2 hours, you'll automatically receive an access code to your phone, giving you complimentary entry to a participating executive airport lounge.

Just register your flight and passenger details before you check in.  You'll find access details with your policy documentation.

sun-car3. Collision Damage Waiver - start your journey from home

When hiring a car on holiday, you'll often be offered Collision Damage Waiver (CDW).  A question we're often asked is "what is it and do I need it?".

Collision Damage Waiver basically removes the responsibility of any damage to the hire car whilst you're renting it.  In short, it means that the car rental company will not ask you to pay for the full cost of any damages to the car.  But they may still ask you to pay the excess (or the first part of the costs).

Car rental companies do offer CDW and policies that reduce or remove the excess, however they're often more expensive than getting it from an insurer.  Make savings on holiday by getting Collision Damage Waiver on your travel insurance policy from Wesleyan, plus you can also get cover for your rental car keys - just in case you lose them.
A travel insurance policy for Wesleyan is more than just a document.  It's there to give you the peace of mind you need, to relax on your well-earned holiday knowing that you'll be looked after if something goes wrong.
