Specialist support for teachers and educators

As experts in the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, the Education Support Team (EST) at Wesleyan Financial Services supports teachers and other educators to get the most from their pension.

Whether you’re confused by your statement, wondering when you can retire, or simply want a clearer picture of what your pension offers, our team can help.

How can we help?

As experts in the TPS, all the information we provide is tailored to the needs of teachers and your options at retirement.

Find out when you can step back

Find out when you can retire and what your benefits will look like, to help kickstart your retirement plans.

Explore phased retirement

Phased retirement is a popular retirement option for many teachers, but understanding how to start the process and begin planning can be overwhelming.

Be clear on abatement

Abatement is a complex rule that can impact your retirement plans. We can help you to make sense of the jargon.

Get a pension projection

Guidance may be helpful, but tailored support based on your own pension statement can be much more useful. That’s why our Education Support Team provide personalised pension projections to give you a clear idea of what you can expect to get in retirement.

Pension projections help you to identify gaps where your current contributions might not get you the retirement you want, so that you can make changes. Please note that personalised pension projections will cost £250 plus VAT (£300 based on today's VAT rate of 20%).

Frequently asked questions

If you’re meeting an Education Support Specialist, they can provide personalised projections and calculations for you at a cost of £250 + VAT (£300 based on today's VAT rate of 20%). Again, you will only be charged once you have agreed to this service and the associated costs.
If you’re meeting with the Education Support Team to discuss your Teachers’ Pension (TPS), we may ask you to share your latest TPS statement with us ahead of the meeting. This allows us to understand your circumstances in advance, and for our Education Support Specialist to talk through your statement during the call.
You’ll need to log into your ‘My Pension Online’ account on the TPS website to download a copy of your statement. Navigate to ‘Benefit Statement’ and select ‘View Current Statement’ to download a PDF copy.

An initial meeting with an Education Support Specialist will usually last around 30-45 minutes and will take place via video call.

Pension projection meetings are more detailed and can take up to two hours.

Yes. You should thoroughly review your service history before making an appointment and contact the school you were working at during that period to get your history updated. The TPS cannot make any changes to your service history without confirmation from the school.
