TRAVEL INSURANCE GUIDANCE - COVID-19/Coronavirus

Cover under the travel insurance policy for claims relating to Coronavirus

Following the World Health Organisation's announcement on 11 March declaring Coronavirus to be a pandemic, it has now become a "known event" for many insurers.

Therefore, Millstream Underwriting Limited has now classified Coronavirus as a "known event" from 13 March.

You’ll be pleased to know that any new or renewed personal travel insurance policies from 1 September 2020 would cover you for claims relating to current or future pandemic/epidemics declared by the World Health Organisation including trips effected by Covid-19.

You would need to have either contracted the disease or be in quarantine to be covered. Your cover is excluded if you travel against the advice of the World Health Organisation and/or if any countries borders shut due to an outbreak.

Note:

For any part of your trip booked from 13 March 2020 to 31 July 2020, you will not be covered for any claims relating to Coronavirus including medical expenses, cancellation, curtailment and travel disruption.

No one can predict what will happen in the future. Therefore, we reserve the right to change or withdraw the availability of this cover at any time and/or to revise our pricing in accordance with the impact of world health developments.
